The leadership of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has threatened to sanction elected council chairmen living outside their respective domains.
The threat was issued on Wednesday by the party’s Chairman in the state, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi while speaking at an event tagged: ‘Stakeholders’ Special Engagement with Mr. Governor,’ held at Marina on Tuesday.
The event featured the presentation of party flags to the 57 chairmanship candidates and their running mates for the coming council election.
It also comprised variety of remarks made by the party leaders including Ojelabi who said, “No council chairman should reside outside the local government.”
Before he added: ”They must reside in the local government. Anytime information reaches us that you are not living in your council, you will be sanctioned.”
