The Lagos State Government on Saturday began its new waste management initiative with the inauguration of the Environmental Sanitation Corps at Agege Stadium.

At the soft launch 920 Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Brigades were transformed to the corps.

Speaking at the occasion, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, said the transformed KAI brigade would assist in the enforcement of payment of the Public Utility Levy (PUL)

He stressed that sanitation is a priority to his administration, adding that the signing of the Environmental Management Protection Law in March 2017 was a precursor to the event and important for maintaining a secure and more prosperous state.
