The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has hit back at pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere.
The latter fired the first salvo, condemning Mohammed’s vitriol on the Labour Party and its Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, arising from the outcome of the elections.
It also claimed the minister was no longer in the good grace of the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, and is only out to curry the former Lagos governor’s favour.
In a rejoinder, Mohammed stated that Afenifere is now a spent force, ruing alleged bad investment it made on Obi.
His words, “It is clear from what they said that Afenifere invested heavily on Peter Obi’s presidency, and they failed woefully, that is the reason why they are lamenting.
“They have refused to get over the loss of what they invested in Obi’s presidential campaign.
“But the earlier they do, the better for them.
“Fortunate were days when Afenifere sneezes and the whole country will catch a cold. It is not the same thing right now.
“When Afenifere talks and you begin to ask yourself, ‘Which Afenifere?’, you know what that means.”
