One Oladele Femi, a landlord, has been arrested for having hands in the gruesome murder of his tenant, Abah John Friday, 25, and the latter’s friend, Andrel Eloho, 19(pictured).
The melancholy event happened in Ondo State where the victims were students of Adekunle Ajasin University at Akungba Akoko.
According to the account of the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abiodun Lawal, Oladele masterminded the abduction and robbery of his tenant and the latter’s friend with two persons’ involvement, one of whom is one Ojo Michael, who has also been arrested.
While the other suspect is at large, Lawal in an interview with newsmen said the police stepped into the matter upon receiving a distress letter bordering on the missing of Friday authored by the victim’s brother’s lawyer.
The police chief expatiated that on swinging into action, officers discovered N800,000 was withdrawn from Friday’s bank account and tracked an iPhone 14 Pro Max stolen from one of the victims to Computer Village in Lagos, with the person in possession of the device revealing that he bought it from Michael.
The latter, it was said, confessed to the crime, while his confession implicated Friday’s landlord.
The report says that a Lexus RX 350 vehicle, property of one of the victims has also been recovered.
It adds that Okah’s lifeless body was discovered three weeks later at a border area between Ondo and Ekiti States while Friday is believed to have been killed, and his body allegedly dumped in a river by an accomplice still at large.
