Teddy Don-Momoh, widower of late gospel singer Kefee, has suffered another devastating loss after his wife, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, died barely two weeks after they welcomed their first child together.

Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh reportedly passed away peacefully following a brief illness, leaving her family, friends and loved ones devastated just weeks after celebrating the arrival of the couple’s newborn.

Her family announced the heartbreaking news on Monday in a statement posted on her official Instagram page.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh.

“After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully,” the statement said.

The family appealed to the public to respect their privacy as they come to terms with the shocking loss, while also asking for prayers for Lara’s soul and strength for those mourning her.

“During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss,” the family added.

Details of her burial will be announced by the family later.

“Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and other family matters will be communicated in due course,” they said.

BABY JOY TURNS TO MOURNING

Lara’s death comes barely two weeks after she and Teddy celebrated the birth of their first child together.

The arrival of their baby had sparked celebrations and congratulatory messages from relatives, friends and well-wishers—making the sudden tragedy even more painful for the family.

Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to popular gospel singer Kefee, who died in June 2014 after battling a lung-related illness.

More than a decade after Kefee’s death, Teddy is now facing another heartbreaking loss with the death of his second wife shortly after the birth of their child.

The grieving family expressed appreciation to everyone who has reached out with prayers, love and support.
