Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has submitted an application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of a party named Advanced Peoples Democratic Party, various reports have claimed.

The reports say INEC on Friday confirmed receipt of the application from members of the polarized PDP loyal to Senator Makarfi.
“The Commission has received not less than 70 applications from associations seeking registration and it is processing them. The association you mentioned must be one of them,” INEC’s spokesman, Mr. Nick Dazang, was quoted as saying in a report.
Recall the court sacked the Caretaker Committee headed by Makarfi, and recognised Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the rightful chairman of the party.[email-subscribers namefield=”YES” desc=”” group=”Public”]
