Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and alongside three others have been dragged to court for relocating Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

The faculty hitherto domiciled in LAUTECH Ogbomoso main-campus is being moved to the newly established Faculty of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources in Iseyin Campus in the Iseyin Local Government Area of the state.

To the chagrin of some students in Agric Faculty who have taken it up legally, the plantiffs: Akintayo Abdulqoyuum Ajibola, Onwi Edet, Ezekiel Ogunmola and Aderemi Olude are asking the court to stop Makinde and his agents from going ahead with the planned relocation.

The legal action followed the school authorities’ directives to 200-level students in the faculty to relocate to Iseyin Campus.

The suit filed by the plantiffs at an Oyo State High Court in Ogbomoso on behalf of their affected colleagues and parents is yet to have a date for hearing.

Other defendants are: the state Commissioner for Education, the acting Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH and the Provost of Iseyin campus.
