Iroko’s neighbour, Haliru Umar, who hails from Sokoto State had reported him to the police alleging that his(Umar) father bore the name. The complainant also said Iroko’s action was aimed at insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.
Iroko’s arrest in August 2016, generated widespread controversy, so also his prosecution.
But Magistrate O. O. Adebo on Tuesday, struck out all charges preferred against him.
