Iliyasu Suleiman, an ex- councillor in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, and three others, have been arrested in connection with Governor Yahaya Bello’s mother’s kidnap.

Other members of the gang are; Danjuma Ibrahim, Iliyasu Obadaki, Alhaji Nasiru, Hafiz Yakubu and Mohammed Jamiu, who was killed during a gun duel with Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives.
Gov. Bello’s mother was kidnapped in Okene, Kogi State in 2014 and freed after her family paid N20m as ransom to her abductors.
Explaining how the kidnappers were arrested, Force Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent Jimoh Moshood, said it followed the arrest of one of them, Danjuma Ibrahim.
According to Jimoh, “”Danjuma Ibrahim was arrested by IRT personnel. He confessed to other several kidnappings and armed robberies in Abuja, Niger and Kogi States and after a painstaking investigation, his confession led to the arrest of two more of his kidnap gang members in Okene, Iliyasu Obadaki and Iliyasu Suleiman.”
