A 20-year-old man charged with having sex with a female goat at Baranda forest in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State has been remanded in prison custody.
The chief magistrate’s court sitting in Dutse ordered the remand of the suspect, Kamisu Baranda, in prison for two weeks.
Magistrate Auwalu Sani Balago said the suspect should be in prison custody to allow police make their investigation.
Kamisu was said to have explained that he saw nothing wrong in making love with the goat since it belonged to him, adding that he was surprised when the village head arrested him, and handed him over to the police.
He further explained that this was not his first time of having sex with animals in the bush as he had done it severally and was never arrested.
However, he regretted his action, saying that if he knew he was going to be arrested, he would have jettisoned the idea. He added that his fear for embarrassment made him to avoid wooing women in the area.
