A 40-year old man, Nuhu Usman, of Dangarga Village in Burra District of Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has shot and killed one of his two wives with a dane gun.
Usman’s thought was that his victim was his son with whom he was in dispute.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Bauchi State Command, Ahmed Wakil, made this known in a statement on Friday wherein it was stated that the suspect loaded his local gun and kept it by his side while sleeping in hopes that his eldest son, who held grudges against him, would come to his room to harm him.
But along the line, Usman reportedly left the room to answer the call of nature, and on return, mistook his wife for his son, so he fetched his gun and unknowingly shot at her, consequently killing her.
The suspect who has six children, according to Wakili’s account, is in police custody.
