A mother of three, Fortune Obhafuoso, is accusing a policeman with the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos State, Samuel Ukpabio, and some others of denying her, her newborn baby.
In the report originally by Punchng, Fortune, a single mother was a Primary School teacher, who in a bid to escape grinding poverty relocated to Lagos from Edo State, and took to surrogacy.
However, her attempt at surrogacy was not a fairytale. The only couple who had a contract with her, stepped back after she was unable to get pregnant at the first shot.
According to the account the 35-year-old shared with publication, the wife later returned to her, and there was an understanding, allegedly that if she (Fortune) was pregnant by another man, she(woman) would convince her husband with the view that the couple would have the baby.
As per the report, the event and succeeding events have landed a policeman, Ukpabio, in the custody of his employer.
It happened that when Fortune put to bed, she was denied of the baby, and paid some money, in apparent criminal act, allegedly under the supervision of the police officer.
