Max Air Limited is facing investigation after adulterated fuel was found in one of its fleet, Boeing 737 Aircraft’s tank.

The probe that is being undertaken by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has culminated in the suspension of the said aircraft from flying.

This was handed down by NCAA on Thursday.

It followed Tuesday’s incident when the
aircraft enroute Maiduguri with the crew on noticing fault with it diverted to Yola.

The fault-finding that succeeded revealed litres of water in the fuel tank.

The General Manager, Public Relations of NCAA, Mr Sam Adurogboye while speaking on the suspension said faulty aircrafts is becoming habitual to Max Air’s fleet saying on the agency’s resolve, “The result of the audit on Max Air Limited must be satisfactory before the airline would be allowed to further operate the aircraft type.

“The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will continue to provide a robust oversight role for the industry and violations of safety regulations would be viewed seriously.”
