A promising footballer, Samuel Owawu, has been stabbed to death by two miscreants in Agege area of Lagos.
Samuel(pictured) was until his death with amateur side, Ifako United Football Club where he was the goalkeeper.
The 21-year-old who hailed from Delta State was a member of the victorious Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Agege, that won the Principal Cup in 2014, and was set to travel to Europe for trials in weeks’ time.
Samuel’s unfortunate murder occurred on Friday at Ashiarobi Street. He was stabbed to death with broken bottles by Ajose Isah and Adebayo Ahmed who had been bullying and demanding money from him.
The police have been on Isah’s trail after he fled the scene while Ahmed is in their custody.
The suspects had earlier on Friday stormed Samuel’s room to demand money from him, and had expressed their dissatisfaction with the N500 he gave them.
Reports said Samuel died at Ifako General Hospital, where he was rushed to by good Samaritans around the scene of the incident.
