A 25-year-old nail technician, Joy Peter Felix, has reportedly disappeared after leaving her residence in Etche, Rivers State, to meet a man she allegedly met on the dating platform Tinder.
More than two months after she reportedly left for the meeting, Joy Peter Felix has not been seen, leaving her family and friends deeply worried about her whereabouts.
Before setting out to meet the mystery man, Joy reportedly told her roommate where she was going and shared the man’s contact details with her, apparently as a precaution in case anything went wrong.
But her roommate was said to have been uncomfortable with the arrangement.
According to the account, the roommate tried to discourage Joy from going because she had never met the man before and their first meeting was allegedly planned at a guest house.
Her concerns reportedly deepened after she checked the man’s WhatsApp profile and noticed that he had no display picture.
Attempts to communicate with him on WhatsApp were also allegedly met with evasive responses.
Despite the warnings, Joy reportedly went ahead with the meeting.
Then came the frightening silence.
About one hour after Joy left, her roommate reportedly tried calling her phone, only to discover that it had been switched off.
The man she was reportedly going to meet was also said to have become unreachable.
Since then, Joy’s phone has allegedly remained switched off, while repeated efforts to establish her whereabouts have reportedly yielded no breakthrough.
Now, more than two months later, anxiety has gripped her family in Akwa Ibom State, where Joy hails from.
Her loved ones are desperately seeking answers and hoping that she is safe and will return home.
Back at the room she shared in Etche, the memories of Joy remain.
Friends and family reportedly hold on to her photographs and belongings, hoping against hope that the young nail technician will one day walk back through the door safe and sound.
