MISSING FOR 10 YEARS! Nigerian Man Found Roaming Streets In US

A Nigerian man, Phillip Elobuike, who reportedly disappeared from contact with his family for about a decade has been dramatically reunited with his loved ones after he was found wandering the streets of Dallas, Texas, in the United States.

Phillip Elobuike from Enugu State MISSING FOR 10 YEARS! Nigerian Man was reportedly spotted by a Nigerian woman who became concerned after seeing him moving around the streets and jumping from one bus to another in an apparent search for shade from the intense Texas heat.

The encounter took an emotional turn when the woman stopped to speak with him and tried to establish his identity and where he came from.

Elobuike reportedly told her that he was Nigerian and from Enugu State. He was also able to mention the names of his mother, Evelyn Elobuike, and sister, Josephine Elobuike.

Worried about his condition and determined to help him find his relatives, the woman recorded a video and appealed to Nigerians to share it widely in the hope that someone would recognise him.

“I saw Phillip roaming around on the street. He was jumping from one bus to another just to get shade. It’s very hot outside,” she said in the video.

The appeal soon began circulating across social media platforms, drawing attention from Nigerians in the United States and back home.

The woman later thanked those who helped circulate the footage, saying the response had made a difference.

In a subsequent update, it was reported that the widespread sharing of the video eventually helped trace Elobuike’s family, paving the way for his reunion with his loved ones after years without contact.

The emotional development has triggered widespread excitement among Nigerians online, with many praising the woman for stopping to help a vulnerable compatriot instead of simply walking past him.

The case has also highlighted the difficult circumstances that can surround people who lose contact with their families while living abroad, particularly those who end up without stable accommodation or support networks.

Beyond the Scars Foundation, which shared the appeal, says its work includes supporting vulnerable people and advocating for those affected by trauma and neglect.

For Elobuike’s family, however, the most important part of the story is that a decade-long search has reportedly ended with their loved one found alive and back in contact with them.

Details about how Elobuike lost contact with his family, where he had been living during the intervening years and the circumstances surrounding his condition in Dallas were not immediately clear from the available reports.

The reunion, nonetheless, has provided a remarkable ending to what had been years of uncertainty for his family.
