In a build-up to the occasion, the 74 years old, an alumnus of Baptist Boys’ High School, Abeokuta, granted The Sun an interview wherein he shared his views about issues, persons and growing-up.
“Of course, I have his(MKO’s) memory. He was a great man who went through Baptist Boys High School, BBHS, If he had not been a Muslim, he would have been a school prefect.
“This is because in BBHS only Christians were made prefects, maybe because the school was Christian religion- oriented. Every morning you would have sermons, every Tuesday you would have prayer meetings. We did not have any hall, but there was a chapel where we did everything. And MKO Abiola learnt a lot from that school. He was a very brilliant person who would sit down for a few minutes to put down a solid and sound speech that would be discussed for a long time by the people,” the monarch told the paper about the acclaimed winner of 1993 presidential election and their alma mater.
Oba Gbadebo was recently sighted in RCCG Redemption Camp.
“I have always been a Christian. And I did not go to the Camp to worship, but to see the GO. Yes, I was born a Muslim, but at the age of 13, I became a Christian,” he said when asked about his visit to the church.
