Mohbad’s death: Police Reacts to Reported Arrest of Naira Marley, Sam Larry

Report making the rounds that Naira Marley and Sam Larry have been arrested in connection with the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad has drawn the reaction of the police.

Mohbad left Marlian Record Label acrimoniously, with the deceased singer and the founder, Marley, on fighting terms till his death.

A past video of the 27-year-old being attacked by Marley’s friend, and music promoter, Larry, while the late singer was on location and a petition the deceased wrote to the police as a result that surfaced online, sparked rumour that both killed him.

However, speculation that Marley and Larry have been picked up has excited the denial of the police.

The Lagos Annex, Force Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2, Alagbon, denied the viral report.

The refutation was by the spokesperson for the Lagos Annex of the FCID, Oluniyi Ogundeyi.

In a related development, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police have launched investigation into the singer’s death saying in a statement he penned, “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends and fans of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, who recently passed away. We understand the concerns regarding his untimely demise.

“The Nigeria Police Force is committed to a comprehensive investigation into this matter, as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police has been tasked to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death. Rest assured, updates will be provided as investigations unfold.

“We encourage family members or close associates with valuable information to approach the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to assist in this process. In the meantime, we kindly request that individuals refrain from making statements or engaging in activities that could jeopardise the ongoing investigation. Your trust and support are deeply valued.”
