MTN has shut down all its offices across the country for fear of facilities coming under attack again.
Aggrieved subscribers trying to see to the restoration of their blocked phone lines broke into the Festac Town branch of the telecommunication giant in Lagos on Monday destroying the offence in the process.
Across the nation, affected subscribers besieged MTN offices.
In the light of the incident, and perhaps fear that the looming nationwide protest may snowball into violence, MTN via a terse statement on X (formerly Twitter), announced closure of its offices.
“Yello customer, please be informed that our shops nationwide will be closed today, 30th July 2024,” it read.
