A bitter online clash between former lovers has taken a frightening turn, with a 26-year-old social media feminist, Folakemi Martins, alleging that her life is now under threat after her former lover, Dennis Emmanuel, allegedly posted her telephone numbers online.
Orijoreporter obtained the report from PUNCH, which reported that Martins claimed she had been bombarded with threatening calls and messages since Emmanuel made public allegations about their relationship.
The woman said she has been virtually trapped inside her home, fearing that those who have been contacting her could carry out their threats.
“I can barely sleep at night. My phones have to be on DND because he doxxed my two numbers for bullying.
“Different numbers are calling and texting me day and night to threaten me to leave a married man alone and harm me, when I was never after him and his family,” she said.
The drama erupted after Emmanuel took to X, accusing Martins of harassment, stalking and trying to destroy his reputation and marriage.
Emmanuel acknowledged that the pair had a sexual relationship but claimed he told Martins from the outset that he was married and was looking for a “side chick.”
Martins strongly disputed that account.
She said she met Emmanuel through a dating app and alleged that he presented himself as someone searching for a “long-term relationship” and a “life partner,” rather than disclosing that he was married.
According to her, she eventually ended the relationship in August after becoming suspicious that Emmanuel was involved with another woman.
But the situation reportedly exploded after Emmanuel went public with his accusations and allegedly shared Martins’ phone numbers.
“The threats started coming after Dennis Emmanuel went public about this and posted my phone number, so it’s definitely from Dennis Emmanuel,” she alleged.
Martins said the fallout has gone beyond her, claiming that her family members have also been dragged into the controversy and subjected to calls and messages.
She said she had not stepped outside since the online confrontation erupted.
“I can’t step outside since Thursday when he did all this online. I’m scared for my life because a lot of numbers he sent are threatening me, and my life is practically in danger right now,” she said.
Martins also demanded that her name be cleared, alleging that the controversy had caused serious damage to her reputation and mental wellbeing.
She said her lawyers would determine the damages to be sought from Emmanuel, including money spent on therapy.
