About twenty athletes who represented Kano State in the just-concluded National Sports Festival have died from fatal road accident.
The deceased were on their way back to Kano from Ogun State, venue of the aforementioned event when the bus conveying them fell from Dakatsalle Bridge in Kura Local Government area of Kano State.
Report has it that at least 19 persons died in the ghastly accident in which the ill-fated Kano State Sports Commission bus fell off the bridge.
It was also gathered that 30 persons were on the bus and the accident left some injured with various degrees of injuries.
“As I am talking to you now, we have counted 19 dead bodies,” the Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Umar Fagge told news.
