A woman, Nene Steve, has been arrested for allegedly beating her maid, Joy Adole Aboel, to death in Bariga area of Lagos State.
Nene is in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti alongside her spouse.

She was said to beaten Joy to death for stealing a pack of noodle and allegedly attempted to cover up her alleged track by claiming her victim committed suicide.
The suspects had gone to the police station to report that their maid committed suicide but before lodging the complaint they allegedly hung the victim’s remains to make it look as if it was suicide.
But the lid on their mendacity was said to have been blown off by detectives, who on arrival at the scene and suspected foul play.
“Homicide detectives on arrival at the scene discovered that the deceased was still standing while a rope was hanging on her neck, which made the suspect’s story suspicious, and equally there were marks all over her body” sources told us.
The spokesman of the Lagos police command, DSP Bala Elkana, has also confirmed the incident.
According to Elkana: “Police moved on with their investigation and found a lot of signs of violence on her body, that she has been tortured before she put the rope on her neck. If it were to be ordinary suicide, how come wound and signs of beating are all over her body?”
