Adamawa’s COVID-19 index case, Kabir Anwa, a journalist, has revealed that he is on recovery path without taking any drug.
Anwar, a member of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Adamawa contracted the deadly virus in Kano, his home state where he had travelled to.

The coronavirus patient told Punchng.com that he was on the path to recovery despite not using any drug saying: “I didn’t expect my test result would be positive. But I am being told that I have also entered recovery and another test is to be conducted after that. I am optimistic the results will be negative. They have yet to administer any drugs except for the food and fruits.”
Meanwhile, due to Anwar’s case, the state Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has banned newsmen from the State Government House, Yola for fear of infesting employees with the dreaded coronavirus.
Guardian correspondent, who was denied access to the Government House quoted the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, as saying when he brought the matter to his attention: “Sorry o my brother, this is an order from above that no journalists must come in, you know this issue of the index case. Don’t worry, I have your email and WhatsApp contacts. I will forward (a) copy of ‘oga’ (governor’s) speech to you.”
