Alhaji Attaihiru Alhassan, a Chief Imam in Edati local government area of Niger State has been killed for sleeping with a married woman, Mrs Aisha Umar.
Alhassan’s killer was Aisha’s husband, 35-year-old Umar Jibrin.
Jibrin, who is in police net over his criminal act, hit the imam in the neck with an iron rod when peace was being brokered between them by their neighbours leading to the death of the 48-year-old.
Consequently, the suspect took to his heels but was caught by some youths in the area who attempted to serve him jungle justice but were prevailed upon to hand him over to the police.
