The Presidency has said that Nigeria is a poor country with a misconception about her wealth.
President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this assertion on NTA on Monday in an interview he granted that centred on the state of the country’s economy.
Speaking, “Nigeria is a very, very poor country, to be honest. I think our wealth is overestimated. I think we have a poor estimation of the wealth of the country, we are a very poor country.”
The Presidential spokesman also discountenanced report that federal workers’ salaries are being owed.
He mentioned that previously there was an issue but has been resolved.
According to him, “The office of the AGF(Auditor-General of the Federation) has said there is a challenge with the platform being used to disburse the salaries. According to a briefing I got this (yesterday) morning, salaries were delayed, but all federal workers have been paid.”
