Actor Emeka Ike has advanced reasons his ex-wife and mother of his four children, Suzanne Emma, divorced him.

On March 2, 2017, a Lagos Island Customary Court, dissolved Emeka’s 17-year-old marriage following a divorce suit Suzanne filed.

Three months after the court’s judgement, the actor said his ex-wife sought for divorce owing to alleged attempts on his life, adding she was blackmailed into divorcing him.

“This matter with my ex-wife is not an important issue. There are more important things I’m concerned with right now and I wouldn’t want to lose focus. A time is coming when I would set the records straight about what really transpired between us. There have been two attempts to kill me and both times, I escaped unscathed. That’s part of the reason my wife left; she is running for her life. I know that some people are blackmailing her and it is the same set of people that leaked the news of our divorce to the media. Even before I got to court with my lawyer on the day judgment was delivered, the news was already on the Internet that my marriage had been dissolved. But the good thing is that I know the people behind this and I will talk at the right time,” he told Punch.

Recall that the actor once accused the founder of the Household of God Church, Pastor Chris Okotie of being behind his marriage crisis.

He said then, ” My name is precious to me and I don’t want anything to drag it in the mud. Pastor Chris Okotie just absorbed my wife into his church without making any effort to get in touch with me. If as a pastor, your church member is having issue with her husband, and you failed to do anything to resolve it, what kind of pastor are you? When I called him, he refused to pick my call. He also failed to react to a text message I sent to him. Is that a man of God? Even, if you have a police case, they will make effort to hear from you before taking a position, not to talk of the church.”
