The youngest Oba in Lagos State, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi’s attention would in a way shift in the months to come to a magistrate court sitting at Ebute Metta after his cousin, Prince Ayinde Oniru dropped his name to dupe a woman of about N4M.
Prince Oniru, 24, and his accomplice, Adekunle Usman were yesterday arraigned on a charge of fraud.
The prosecutor, Feddy Asu, told the court that Prince Oniru and his accomplice conned one Princess Adeleke few months back into giving them goods worth N3.5 million on credit after they made the business woman to believe that they were sent by His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi.
The goods that were collected from her included some note books, one i-phone 5, one i-pad tablet, assorted wrist watches, gold jewellery and cash sum of N250,000.
After Prince Oniru and Usman pleaded not guilty to the charges against them, Magistrate F.I Adefioye, granted them bail and adjourned the case until August 4, for mention.
