Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, has paid his respect to Mrs. Jennifer Bina Efidi, a victim of election violence in Lagos.

Efidi was stabbed close to her eye by one of the hoodlums in vain attempt to disrupt election in her polling unit in a part of Surulere in Lagos State.

Consequently, she left the scene to undergo treatment. Her return to cast her vote at the cost of her wellbeing struck many, and as a result she made the news.

Defeated Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi via his social media handle announced his visit to Efidi’s house.

The post accompanied by picture of them together reads, “Today (Monday), I visited Mrs Jennifer Efedi. She was attacked on 25 February in an attempt to stop her from voting. She stood her ground. Jennifer is one of the great icons of Nigeria’s democracy.

“She is my point of contact with every Nigerian who suffered similar fate in their bid to exercise their voting rights and contribute to a new Nigeria.

“Like many Nigerians, I acknowledge her bravery and resoluteness. Jennifer is a true manifestation of Profile in Courage for a new Nigeria.”
