The National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has been asked to sanction Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, for allegedly working against the party’s interest.

Making the request was the party’s Working Committee in the State under the leadership of Dr. Hilary Eke in a petition to its National Working Committee.

The committee accused the governor of establishing a parallel Excos of APC adding that action was capable of destabilizing the party and affecting its fortune in the state in 2019 election.

“Pursuant to Article 21D (11) of the APC constitution, the state Working Committee has made appropriate recommendations to the National Working Committee of our great party, to take adequate disciplinary measures against the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Anayo Ethelbert Okorocha, for engaging in various anti-party activities, which could lead to breakdown of law and order in the state,” the petition read in part.

Recall that Governor Okorocha announced one Chris Oguoma, from Owerri Municipal Council, as the acting chairman of the party after he lost at the state congress.
