The death toll from last week’s gas explosion in Alimosho area of Lagos State, has risen by two following the demise of a staff member of Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Olusola Amos Adeleke, and his child, Matia.
The explosion occurred last Thursday at Best Roof Gas Station on Cardoso Road, Baruwa in Ipaja area destroying several properties and causing multiple deaths while some suffered varying degrees of injuries.
Late Matia
Adeleke, who lived in the area with his family died on Saturday morning at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, where he had been on admission for injuries he sustained in his effort to rescue one of his three children, Matia, during the inferno.
Around 24-hour after the INEC staff member’s death, salt was rubbed into the wound of the Adelekes as two-year-old Matia, passed on at the same hospital.
Report said late Adeleke is survived by his widow, two children and an aged mother.
