The religious war between Islamic extremists and traditional worshippers in Osun State may have been resolved.
A supremacy battle between both culminating in mutual attacks has bee disturbing Osun’s peace.
However, it has drawn the intervention of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kehinde Longe, according to the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola.
The latter said, Opalola presided over a reconcilatory meeting attended by the Chief Imam of the Kamaudeen Mosque, Osogbo, Alhaji Kasim Yunis, and the custodian of a masquerade, Chief Kayode Esuleke as the annual Egungun masquerade holds in the town.
“The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, Patrick K. Longe, held a strategic security meeting with the masquerade custodian, Pa Esuleke, and the Chief Imam of the Kamaudeen Mosque, Oke Baale, Osogbo, Alhaji Kasim Yunis.
“CP restated that he will not condone anything that will cause the breach of peace in anyway.”
