Otedola and the incumbent governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, hail from Epe area of the state.
The rumour of the billionaire businessman’s political aspiration may have been trigged by video of him taking a ride in a Molue from Sango area of Ogun State to Agege area of Lagos State, which surfaced on the net.
However, he has denied the rumour in a tweet via his handle saying: “My attention has been drawn to a news piece where false information from a parody account was posted,” Otedola tweeted in the early hours of Friday.
“I am a man of the people and I will always be on the side of the masses but I am stating clearly via this medium that I am not running for office.”
Otedola’s father, Late Michael Otedola, was one-time Governor of the state between 1992-1993.
