The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three young men in Saki over alleged homosexual acts following an intelligence-led operation.

The suspects were identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit, Saki Operational Base.

According to him, the arrest followed intelligence received on September 29, 2026, which prompted the Commissioner of Police to direct the unit to verify the information and take appropriate action.

Olayinka said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly admitted to engaging in homosexual acts.

He added that two of the suspects allegedly confessed to having sexual relations with the third suspect on several occasions, claiming that they regarded him as their “wife”.

The police spokesperson said investigations were continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine whether other individuals were connected to the case.

The command maintained that the investigation would be conducted professionally and in accordance with the law.

It also urged residents to provide credible and timely information to assist the police in preventing and investigating crime.
