Minority Leader of the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe said President Muhammadu Buhari stood to be stoned and disgraced out of office if he refused to resign.
Senator Abaribe made this statement on Wednesday during a tense debate on the protracted insecurity across the country on floor of the senate.
The Senator, representing Abia-South Senatorial District tore into Buhari over the comment made by the president that he was taken aback by the preponderance of insecurity.
He said the statement connoted that the federal government lacked the capacity to solve the problem, therefore, the president must resign or else Nigerians would take to self-help.
His word, “Today, the APC government has failed because people are being killed anyhow. If you want to deal with a matter, you first go to the head. We can go to the APC government and ask this government to resign.
“And we want to tell the government that if it does not resign, we shall have no option than to go with stones to pursue it.”
“Yes the Nigerians voted a government into power and that government even said, if we don’t perform, stone us, we are going with the stones to stone them now because they are no longer performing.”
