Plan by Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, to defect to African Democratic Congress, ADC, may have been revealed.
Obi is involved in the coalition of political figures who find fault with the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and are determined to see to it that the former Lagos governor does not return to the exalted position come 2027 election.
To that end, they have been shopping for a political party on which to stand in Tinubu’s way, with latest report from a credible source, Punchng, saying they have settled for ADC, alongside Obi.
The report, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, and media aide to the former Anambra governor, Yunusa Tanko corroborated.
“Yes, there may be a pronouncement in the coming days. We will call everybody and let you know. I am not in charge of the secretariat. The secretariat will let you know the date.
“I will not be able to tell you the platform they have settled for. When they announce it, they will let you know. There is no need for us to be in a hurry.
“My message to Nigerians is this: I have always said — take a look at your kitchen and compare it to where it was before. Then you will know that you need to make a decision to make Nigeria better,” Tanko told the publication.
