The report that Senator George Akume has been removed as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has drawn disclaimer from the Presidency.
A social media report had earlier prevailed, claiming the former Benue State Governor was sacked by President Bola Tinubu.
This, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga controverted.
Onanuga in the refutation described it as ‘fake news” curated by “agents of mischief.”
It reads in part: “There has been no change in the status of His Excellency, Senator George Akume, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.”
