The Lagos State Police Command on Friday dismissed report that Lagos popular market, Alaba Market, was on fire.
The report that spread like a wild fire online also said miscreants stood in the way of men of the State Fire Service from putting out the inferno.
Dismissing the report, the police by a tweet from its Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, also threw light on the issue.
“This is a false narrative! Acting on credible information, police officers from the Ojo division raided shanties around the market, arrested suspected criminals and recovered some weapons. The shanties were thereafter set on fire. Alaba Int’l Market is not on fire,” Hundeyin tweeted.
