The wife, father and associates of late gospel singer, Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, have signed a peace undertaking following a heated disagreement over his burial arrangements.

The Oyo State Police Command brokered the agreement on Tuesday at its headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, after summoning the feuding parties for a meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga.

The intervention followed reports of disagreements involving allegations of conspiracy, defamation of character and actions capable of triggering a breach of the peace.

In a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, the police said the Commissioner received information about the dispute on October 28 and moved to prevent it from escalating.

Those who signed the undertaking included the singer’s wife, Olayemi Elizabeth Damilola; his father, Muniru Olayemi; and his associates, Oyindamola Esther, Babadunni Gbolabo and Lawal Ademola Rafiu.

The singer’s personal assistant and other representatives were also present.

The dispute reportedly centred on where the late singer should be buried, with his father said to have favoured either the house he built or a burial beside his late mother in Osun State.

His wife, however, was reportedly opposed to the idea of burying him at their home.

Under the peace agreement, all parties pledged to maintain peace, avoid provocative conduct and stop public exchanges, interviews and discussions capable of worsening the disagreement.

They also agreed to stop circulating allegations, statements and publications about the matter on social media, blogs, radio, print media and other communication platforms.

The undertaking further prohibits them from using proxies, agents, associates or representatives to sponsor or circulate materials capable of reigniting the dispute.

The Commissioner of Police warned the parties against taking advantage of the singer’s death to fuel hostility or spread unsubstantiated allegations.

He also cautioned that anyone found committing an offence under the law would be arrested and prosecuted.

The command appealed to bloggers, media practitioners and members of the public to exercise restraint and avoid spreading unverified information capable of reopening the dispute.

Toluwanisings died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026, after reportedly slumping, sparking controversy over claims that several hospitals allegedly turned him away while efforts were being made to secure emergency medical attention.

His personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, had claimed that the singer was taken to seven or eight hospitals before his death.

However, the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, denied having any record confirming that the singer was brought to its facility.
