Yesterday was a fateful day in Benue as armed robbers robbed three banks and killed seven persons.
The latter include a policewoman, Emmanuella Ankyov(pictured above). The station the slain cop was attached to near the banks in Otukpo was the robbers’ first port of call.
Among those killed is a former councillor, transacting business in one of the affected banks.
The dastardly operation took place around 3.00pm.
Eyewitness said the robbers drove into the town, shooting into the air and after finishing with that police station gained access into the banks and their vaults with dynamite.
Amid the operation, people scampered for safety with the policemen attached to the banks said not to put up a fight.
Report added that while fleeing with their loots in two Hilux vehicles and a car, the robbers who operated for about an hour threw naira notes into the air.
