One Ruth Osah, and a member of a local security outfit, Mark Orduize, died in an episode of election violence that marked Saturday’s presidential and national assembly polls across the country.
Osah, who was said to be pregnant and Orduize were killed at a polling unit in the Ubimini community, Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Orduize, was a member of the Emohua Local Vigilante Service codenamed EMOLVIS.
The deceased, and his colleagues, according to report, were in pursuit of a gun-bearing young guy, who was moving around in attempt to recruit some boys to perpetrate violence.
In the process, one of the vigilantes mistakenly shot at Osah causing her death.
It prompted anger from some youths in the area, who launched attack on the vigilantes, and got Orduize killed.
It was unknown as at the time of this publication whether slain Orduize was the one who pulled the trigger that killed pregnant Osah.
