The Police Command in Kwara State on Monday said kidnappers and armed robbers have formed the habit of using Point of Sale machine to carry out their dastardly acts.
This, the state Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya said at a meeting with Kwara Association of Professional Point of Sales Agents, (KAPPSA), and the Information Technology Professional Association (ITPA), a body of artisans who are into computer repairs and dealings in the state.
The agenda was to stem the tide of crimes in the state.
Olaiya said kidnappers and armed robbers have found PoS machines useful tools in their unholy businesses saying, “Kidnap ransom is paid through POS in some cases and we have cases where robbers now go to homes with POS machines.
“But with an association capturing legitimate operators in the state, it makes it easy to track criminality.”
