The protest letter Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde, wrote to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, accusing the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu land of omitting him from the ongoing selection process of the next Awujale of Ijebu land has drawn reaction from the Ruling House.

KWAM1 in the letter claimed that Fusengbuwa Ruling House, next in line to produce the new Awujale issued directives that were unknown to the Chieftaincy Declaration and the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State.

The musician who is at the centre of the controversy surrounding the selection of the new Awujale averred that the directives were aimed at disenfranchising him from contesting for the throne.

His argument has however excited reaction from the Vice Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Prof. Fassy Yusuf who according to Punchng dismissed the protest letter as “arrant nonsense”.

It also quoted Yusuf as saying: “The letter was directed to the government, so they will respond appropriately. The issue being raised about the screening is illogical. We have over 20,000 members in the ruling house. How does he expect us to manage the crowd? What is being talked about is illogical.”

He reportedly also said that the family had fixed Monday for the nomination meeting of aspirants for the vacant stool.

Recall that the Fusengbuwa Ruling House has consistently maintained that KWAM1 is not one of them, a position in contrast to the musician’s claim.
