A lecturer with Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, Kano State, has been dismissed after he was found guilty of having affairs with a married female student by the school management.

In a letter dated June 19, 2015, and signed by the assistant registrar of the school, Mallam Shuaibu Sabo, the lecturer(name withheld) was also punished for having sexual acts with the female student in her matrimonial home.

The letter further stated that the lecturer’s reply to sexual misconduct query issued to him, and the subsequent investigation conducted by the college’s Staff Disciplinary Advisory Committee, indicated that he was culpable.

The letter reads in part: “Therefore, in accordance with the provision of sections 04306 (iii) and (x) and 04406 of the revised 2014 civil service rules of Kano State, with the recommendations of the College Disciplinary Advisory Committee, the lecturer is dismissed with immediate effect.”

The College Academic Board also approved the expulsion of the female student for being found wanting and engaging herself in an immoral act in her matrimonial home with the lecturer.
