Salami Adekunle, a Kwara State civil servant with College of Education, Oro, was struck and killed by lightning in the middle of the road on Thursday morning within the school premises.

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased, who was a staff of the Registry Department of the institution, was leaving the institution’s examination office for his department at about 10a.m. when the incident happened during a downpour.
“While he was walking to his office from examination office, it started raining, with lightning and thunder. He was struck by lightning and died on the spot.”
His remains lied on the spot of the incident for a while before it was evacuated.
OrijoReporter gathered that the deceased, who was 47-year-old and hailed from Ilesa in Osun State was fondly called Kulasa.
