Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the Governing Council of Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, has come under fire for allegedly running the institution unilaterally.

Joint committee of the university four trade unions in a communique issued on Friday after the end of their emergency meeting at the ASUU Secretariat Complex of the university, JAC, accused Senator Saraki of disregarding its report on Staff Verification, welfare, promotions, salary disparity, tax remitances, pension remission, statutory allowances, confirmation of appointment, which it submitted to the Governing Council.
It said instead the Senate President’s younger sister allegedly constituted another Ad-Hoc Committee unilaterally to look into the issues as well as to probe the protest in the institution on May 23, 2017.
The disgruntled JAC insisted that the groups must know the outcome of the first committee, and gave the governing council a 21-day ultimatum, with effect from Friday, June 23, 2017.
