The lawmaker representing Borno South, Senator Ali Ndume, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sign an executive order on unexplained wealth.
Many of Nigerian money-bags came into wealth through the backdoor, a situation that is one of the factors militating against the country’s development.
Ndume urged Tinubu to arrest the ugly situation by signing an executive order that would ramp up the war against corrupt practices.
He made the charge when he appeared on Channels Television on Monday.
“I have tried several times, but, you know, there were excuses here and there. I think the best way to get this across is when the bill comes from the executive, or in the interim, the current president should sign an executive bill on unexplained wealth,” the Senator said.
