Governors of South West states said they have resolved to compulsory face masks wearing among residents of the six states in the war waged against coronavirus spread.

The forum chairman and Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu unveiled the plan saying it was one of the resolutions reached by the governors against the spread of the deadly virus at a virtual meeting on Friday.

“The governors further agreed that wearing of nose masks will be made compulsory for everybody coming out of their homes effective from Friday, 24 April, 2020 in their respective states,” Akeredolu said.

The governor added that the other decision reached at the summit was the shutting of all entry points to the region to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the zone.
