President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, has died of coronavirus at aged 81.
Kyari died yesterday with his death place remaining a mystery after announcing he was moving to Lagos for medical treatment but the state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi said he didn’t know his whereabouts.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, broke the news via a statement, saying: “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”
