Students arrested for stealing TV, prayer mat

Two students of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, have been arrested for burglary and stealing.

The suspects are: Bamusa Bako, a 25-year-old 400 level student of Urban and Regional Planning, and Yusuf Umar, a 28-year-old 500 level student of Industrial Design.

Both are from Yelwa Campus.

Their arrest was announced via a statement released by Bauchi command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil.

Wakil said the police answered a distress call bordering on the suspects assaulting two fellow students, which resulted in Bako and Umar’s arrest for burglary and stealing of television set, prayer mat and other valuables.

“Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects conspired and broke into the residence of Raji Rabi’u, a 28-year-old 400L student of Estate Management at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

“They allegedly made away with, One 32-inch Hisense TV, One DSTV decoder, One woofer, One speaker, One pair of shoes, One blanket, One prayer mat,” the statement reads in part.
