A grieving mother, Thelma Ozy Smith, has poured out her pain in a heartbreaking tribute after laying her beloved daughter to rest, describing the experience as the “hardest thing a mother should ever have to do.”
In an emotional message shared after the burial, the devastated mother said her heart had been shattered beyond words as she struggled to come to terms with the loss of her daughter, whom she described as her “beautiful angel.”
“I did the hardest thing a mother should ever have to do—I laid you to rest,” she wrote. “My heart is shattered in ways words can never truly describe.”
The heartbroken mum said she keeps wishing the tragedy was only a nightmare, longing to hear her daughter’s voice, see her smile, and hold her once again.
She described her late daughter as a vibrant young woman with a bright future, saying she was full of dreams, kindness, strength and endless possibilities.
“You had so much ahead of you, and I was so proud of the amazing young woman you were becoming,” she wrote.
Admitting that the pain has left an unfillable void in her life, the grieving mother confessed she was “not ok” but said her faith in God was giving her the strength to carry on.
Although she has said goodbye to her daughter’s earthly body, she declared that their bond would never be broken.
“Our love did not end… it never will. You will forever live in my heart, in my thoughts, and in every breath I take.”
Ending the emotional tribute, she prayed for her daughter to rest peacefully, calling her “my greatest blessing, my deepest love, and my sweetest memory.”
“Sleep peacefully, my precious angel… Rest, my darling Mbila. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever my daughter,” she wrote.
